Downloading Microsoft Office documents from BITC Connect attachments

Users may find issues downloading MS Office documents that have been attached to BITC Connect Pages or Resources. There appears to be a problem if the associated link is clicked directly that results in an odd folder being created on your computer.

So far the problem has only been reported by users using Microsoft Internet Explorer, other browsers such as Chrome and Firefox don't appear to exhibit this problem.

Luckily it is easy to work-around the issue.

Right-click on the document link to bring up the small popup menu.

Select 'Save target as...' option, then locate a suitable filename and location for the file on your computer.

The document will then download successfully and you will be able to open and edit it.
