£4.8m Big Lottery Fund (BIG) Grant Announced

 

On 20 June 2012 the Big Lottery Fund (BIG) announced a grant of up to £4.8 million to fund the development and infrastructure of the programme leveraging more than £39m worth of talent from businesses and £52m worth of impact in to local communities.

Major business including Lloyds Banking Group, Carillion, Sainsbury's, BT, and Greggs signed up to the pilot which began in September 2011 funded with a grant from the Office of Civil Society. Since then, Business in the Community has placed over 20 individuals to work in areas of particular social & economic need across the UK - many of whom are working in areas directly affected by the 2010 riots such as Westminster, Manchester and Tottenham.
